Intern 2

Hi,again. Well it looks like I'll the be only one writing this week. Our other intern Marcia has finished early and just left today. It's does sadden me that she is leaving but I know she moving on to bigger and better thing. So,bye Marcia and it was a pleasure working with you. Anyway this blog is about what happened today, so here it is. Well, today was not to busy I was able to finish the paper work from the other day but what made it really nice was the fact that, I was able to finish in time watch the making of an episode of Access East Chicago. The reason why this was special for me is that this will be the last episode I will see being made. So, again another sad moment. But it wasn't all sad today. My colleagues were nice enough to buy Marcia and I some lunch and when we did finally do a story I was able to take some picture. If you been reading this blog you would know that I never use the camera. But today we need someone to take pictures for the Police Press Conference. So, they choose me. Even though I know for a fact I did not do a great job but it was nice that they let me try. I mean who knows I may have something. Anyway that's all for today, hope you have a great day. Bye.
Well, today is my last official day with the internship program. I am a bit sad because my colleagues and I have developed a great rapport and.... now I have to leave. This has truly been a great experience I must say!!

To all the guys, thank you so much for showing me pretty much every aspect of the multimedia department: blogging, filming, photography, anchoring, editing, photo shop, final cut, press releases, interviewing....etc.

During this program, not only did I work in the multi-media department, but I was also given opportunities to work with other departments within East Chicago. I am glad that I was given this opportunity and I want to thank our Mayor, Mr. George Pabey for his vision in continuing this program in spite of the economy.

I will take this experience and hold it very dear to me as I move on...but not too far from here ..:)! So, if you guys ever need an extra helping hand or a voice-over (see all the new terms I learned?? :), please feel free to call me at 219.....well, you know the number!!

This is the last time......

Take care and I hope you enjoyed my blogs!!

Intern 2

Hi, again it's been pretty busy today. I just get in the office when we were sent to MacArthur golf course for the Hook a kid on golf. The program basically teaches children of the sport of golf and the benefits of playing the game. I never really thought that children so young would find this sport interesting but after speaking to a few they express how much fun it is and how they would like to return. Altogether it was a nice experience the mosquitoes make this job very difficult. So, after filming and taking some interviews, we all left to pass out some fliers for East Chicago's Film in the park. Once we finished, we return back only to be sent back on location again. Like I said busy day. This time we when to EC Central for the registration day which is happening all this week. At first the report was to be something small just as a reminder of registration but it didn't end up that way. We were able to meet the new principal of Central and learned a little about him. We also learned of the new technology that will help parents keep track of their child's actions in school. So, over all it was an unexpected find. Lucky after all this we were able to go back and I finished the day with just did some paper work. So again a lot to do today but I was happy doing it. You know minus the bugs. But now that I'm finishing this internship, I really do appreciate all the opportunities I been given in this job and I hope that I don't mess up to bad these last few days. So here's hoping until tomorrow. Bye.

An Intern's Eyes

This morning I woke up extra early and I put on a dress. I also curled my hair!! This is note-worthy because I normally wear my hair in a ponytail; but today is not just an ordinary day. Today.....I get to co-host the news with the non-other Mr Ray Flores!!

Before we could do the news, I had an assignment to take pictures at MacArthur Golf course. My goal was to use all the fundamentals I have learned in past weeks and produce the best pictures ever. I think I did a great job despite the mosquito convention going on...lol.

Well it is almost closing time and we did not get an opportunity to cover the news today, but I hope we do tomorrow....heck its my last day... :(

To find out how I did on the news, watch Comcast Channel 21 for ECTV News.

Until next time.......

An Intern's Eyes

Well, everyone, this is my last week here as an intern. The mood is bitter-sweet because I will miss everyone I have worked with and have worked with me thus far. One thing I know is that I will take all of the knowledge I have learned here and use it to better myself. I have a degree in business marketing and this experience has only enhanced my credentials. Well, again I want to thank the staff here in the media department for taking time out of their busy (I do mean busy!) to show me the "ropes." I really appreciate you guys and wish you all the best! Hopefully the next two days I hope I can get to do the NEWS (ECTV)......something I really want to try!

Until next time.........

Intern 2

Hi, sorry for not blogging the last few days but its been a pretty busy. Well, to start just as I thought my quiet office days are gone and now I back working on some story. The first being the National Night out Against Crime which took place in the Roxana Center. The National Night out Against Crime is basic a day in which a group gives awareness of crime and drug to their community. My job for this event was to give a short introduction of the program and what to came. I have to say that gathering was huge, about four or so different centers in East Chicago came with their group of children for the event. The event pretty much begin with the whole group marching around the Roxana Center with banners speaking again violence and drug. The event continued outside which a beautiful display of the children releasing they're balloon as a promise to stay away from crime and drug. After that everyone was invited in Roxana Center for the performances of child which included dances, skits, and songs.

Well, due to some mix up I was not able to come on Tuesday but as for today I able to help in a story. This one being the grand opening of a Dollar General's Store. This time I give a voice over the of the opening of the store with some fact of the great quality items and their overall development. From all the assignments I've been doing this was one of my favorite just for the simple fact that I didn't need to look in a camera or look good doing it. Anyway it's just about time to leave so, and it's a payday with a three day weekend. So, bye.
